August often works with the cutting edge, but what if we applied that tech to the past? The VGB100 VHS to Digital Converter is a USB device for Windows PC and Laptops which takes RCA / SCART inputs and records that content digitally. From VHS players to Vinyl and retro game consoles like PS1 or Xbox 360.

Captured video is previewed in real-time so you can record as much or as little as you choose, and even edit together multiple recordings in to one digital format video. The VHS to DVD software allows you to then burn that video straight to a disc, or just save as a file to share on social media! It was important to us that the software was all-inclusive, and we are proud of the VGB100 for saving so much media that would have deteriorated.

Bring the Gift of the Past in to the Future

The VGB100’s drivers and included software are available online or via the disc with the USB converter stick, and are made to directly capture, record, and burn to disc your precious VHS collection or other analogue media! Preserve video and audio from decades past in to safer, higher-quality format

Installation Package with Technical Support

Our driver and software package gets your VHS to DVD recorder ready on Windows systems. Everyone’s computer is different so, if you encounter issues, we have an online guide in addition to weekday customer support available 9am to 5pm. Everyone converting VHS tapes, Hi8 cameras and more are welcome!

Plan Ahead with Box Contents

The VGB100 creates an RCA and S-Video input for your computer or laptop using a standard USB port. Your USB port should be USB 2.0. The device comes as standard with a SCART adapter and RCA cable. If you have an S-Video device please use the cable your device came with itself as one is not supplied

Powerful Software Licence Key Included

The Honestech VHS to DVD 4.0 Software allows the capture, preview and recording of your analogue devices directly on your computer. Recordings made can be edited with text, timing and cut down as you wish. The edited reel can be stored digitally or burned to disc all in one software for ease-of-use

Can this capture Retro Game Consoles (I play N64, PS2, PS1)?
The VGB100 can extrapolate any RGB/SCART system and record it so is compatible with those consoles if you have the correct cables.

Will this get 8mm camcorder footage onto Windows 10 PC?
The VGB100 will be able to convert that footage, and drivers are available on Windows 10 from our website with the code included in the box. Make sure you have the correct cables that came with the camcorder.

My PC cannot see the device?
This is most likely a driver issue. Please enable microphone and camera permissions on your system, temporarily disable your anti-virus, and reinsert the device. The VGB100 needs to run programs and install software to work, and can be blocked by anti-virus that misinterprets these programs as unwanted.

Blue Screen Recording?
If you have a blue screen instead of video you may have used the incorrect cables, inserted them into the wrong sockets, or simply they are loose. Check all your cables and connections.
